One small flame, doing all the work.
A 12×18 cm canvas, almost entirely dark, with a single candle flame doing
all the work. The palette is the night-and-gold pair that recurs through
the cosmic pieces, scaled down to something domestic: a dinner table
moment, a hallway at midnight, a quiet room. There’s very little drawing
here — just a held, warm light and the shape it carves out of the shadow.
It pairs especially well above a bedside lamp or beside a doorway where
the dark of the painting meets the dark of evening.
